Benefits available through your medical plan

All State Farm medical plans include coverage for mental health treatment. Covered services include:

  • Outpatient therapy, including individual, group, and family counseling.
  • Inpatient care in hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, and residential treatment facilities.

Some medical services and prescription drugs require prior authorization before they are covered. This means your health care provider must get approval from your insurance provider in advance. If prior authorization isn’t obtained, you may be responsible for the full cost. This process helps ensure care is safe, appropriate, and covered under the plan.

For coverage details, refer to your plan documents on the My State Farm Benefits Resource website (auto sign-on with SSO | log in). On the home page, select Plan Documents from the left navigation, then select the Health and Insurance dropdown.

Teladoc and Accolade Care

  • Teladoc provides 24/7 virtual access for mental health services, including therapy and counseling sessions for ages 13 and older.
  • Accolade Care offers whole-person care with mental health therapists as part of its virtual primary care program. This service is available to members ages 18 and older, but age requirements may vary in some states.
